Six reasons uploads get rejected
- Too big — compress it with Compress image.
- Too small — some portals set a minimum too; use the min-KB box.
- Wrong format — PNG or HEIC where JPG is required.
- Wrong dimensions — fix with Resize image.
- Unclear signature — faint ink, shadows, or lined paper.
- Photo rules broken — cap, sunglasses, side angle, busy background.
Taking a photo that passes
- Plain light wall, facing a window, about a metre back.
- Chest upward, both ears visible, neutral expression, no cap or tinted glasses.
- Crop to head & shoulders, then resize and compress.
Scanning a signature
- Black or dark blue ink on plain white paper, signed as you normally would.
- Photograph straight-on in good light, no shadow.
- Crop tight to the ink before compressing.
Documents & certificates
Photograph each page, convert to one PDF, then compress if it's over the limit. Need several files in one? Merge them in order.

What's the standard photo size?
3.5 × 4.5 cm (413 × 531 px at 300 DPI), JPG, 20–50 KB — but always check your notification.
Why does the upload keep failing?

Does my photo need a date on it?
Some boards require it. Check your notification's annexure on photo specs.
